About Family Mediation Ireland
Family Mediation Ireland is a private client mediation service based in the Republic of Ireland, operating nationwide. We help families navigate separation, divorce, parenting arrangements, and property disputes without courtroom battles.
Our work covers the same topics we have always written about. Historical articles stay at their original URLs with original wording. We also publish new evergreen guides in the same niche, expanding on practical questions families ask when relationships change.
The service is built for people who want a structured conversation, not a fight. Mediation sessions take place in person or remotely, depending on what works for the family. Most cases settle in three to six sessions.
We do not represent either party. Both people sit in the same room (or video call) with a trained mediator who keeps the process fair and focused. Lawyers can review any agreement afterward, but the mediation itself is a direct conversation between the two of you.
Family Mediation Ireland is not a law firm. We do not give legal advice, draft court documents, or appear in hearings. What we do is create space for decisions that stick, because both sides helped shape them.
Our mediators hold accreditation from the Mediators' Institute of Ireland and complete annual professional development. Each brings experience in family law, social work, or psychology, and all follow a strict confidentiality code.
Sessions are private. Nothing said in mediation can be used in court unless both parties agree in writing. That rule lets people speak plainly about money, children, and hurt without fear of it becoming evidence.
We charge a flat session fee, disclosed before booking. Some clients qualify for legal aid mediation through the Legal Aid Board; we are separate from that system but can explain how it works.
Family Mediation Ireland serves clients across all thirty-two counties, with offices in Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Limerick. Remote sessions mean geography is rarely a barrier.
If you are considering separation or already in the middle of one, mediation is usually faster and cheaper than litigation. It also leaves you in control of the outcome, rather than handing decisions to a judge who has never met your children.
